Safeguarding Natural Systems

Natural Systems

Better lives happen in healthy environments

Our Approach

Better lives happen in healthy environments. At Kimberly-Clark, we know our continued success depends on innovating new ways to give consumers the essentials they need while safeguarding natural systems and the life they support. To that end, we’re focused on four areas where we can make the biggest difference: climate, forests, water, and plastics. That means:

  • Eliminating waste and recovering resources
  • Promoting sustainable forest management to preserve resources, promote natural carbon sequestration, and protect biodiversity and forest-dependent cultures
  • Building strong water stewardship practices where they matter most
  • Cutting plastics use and greenhouse gas emissions in line with climate science

With our refined 2030 strategy, we challenged ourselves to reset our ambition level to drive action that we believe is proportionate to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Here are some of the inspiring examples from across our company.

Supporting Global Goals

Our efforts to safeguard natural systems support four of the UN Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production; SDG 13 – Climate Action; SDG 14 – Life Below Water; and SDG 15 –- Life on Land. Our history demonstrates our commitment to act on these goals and our 2030 strategy seeks to accelerate our contribution.
